This “Umba Rose” Colour Change garnet displays the classic pink to red colour shift these Tanzanian garnets are well known for.
There are a number of different combinations of colour change you can find in these types of garnets, the more common is the purple to red colour shift, but the pink to red colour shift like this one appears to be a bit harder to find.
“Colour shift”, would be the appropriate term to use when describing this gemstone, as the colour it changes to only sits one colour square away from its underlying base colour on the colour wheel.

This stone weighs in at 2.59cts and has a thin veil that runs through the middle of the stone with some eye visible small inclusions giving it a unique look and collector appeal.
This stone is untreated and completely natural, it has a clarity rating of SI2 – slightly included.
